The College, represented by the Community Service Committee in the Accounting Department, organized a lecture titled “Internal Auditing and Effective Control: A Pillar of Governance and Sustainability in Charitable Work”, in cooperation with Al-Hilwah Charity Association.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Fateh Bouloudh, Assistant Professor of Accounting in the department. He discussed the importance of internal auditing and effective control in safeguarding the resources of charitable organizations, strengthening principles of governance and transparency, and enhancing financial and administrative performance in ways that support the sustainability of charitable work and reinforce public trust.
The lecture also presented several practical applications and case studies related to the work environment of nonprofit organizations, along with an explanation of key control risks and mechanisms to mitigate them. It further highlighted the importance of documentation and internal procedures in protecting funds and ensuring that support reaches beneficiaries efficiently and transparently.
Additionally, the lecture included a critical and analytical review of the association’s organizational structure to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, emphasizing the importance of clear authorities and responsibilities and the activation of oversight and administrative roles to enhance institutional efficiency and elevate governance practices within charitable organizations.
The event witnessed strong engagement from attendees, reflecting the department’s commitment to strengthening its community role and promoting professional and regulatory awareness in alignment with national goals for developing the nonprofit sector.
