On Wednesday, 09/04/1447 AH, the College’s Female Section, represented by the Guidance and Advising Unit and in collaboration with the Academic Advising Committee in the Accounting Department, organized an introductory lecture titled “Peer Advisor Initiative and Be Aware Campaign,” presented by seventh-level student Amani Al-Dosari to fifth-level students. The event was part of the College’s efforts to support and empower female students both academically and socially.
The session began with an overview of the initiative and its goals, which aim to foster collaboration among students and create a safe, supportive university environment through academic and emotional support offered by high-achieving students to their peers. The lecture included an explanation of the peer advisor’s role in assisting academically struggling students and promoting psychological and social balance.
The event also introduced the registration process for those interested in joining the initiative, along with selection criteria and procedures. Student inquiries were addressed, and guidance was provided on how to benefit from the program. The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of seeking support—academic, psychological, or social—when needed, as a means of cultivating a culture of mutual assistance and collaboration among students.
The initiative received positive engagement from attendees and helped strengthen connections across academic levels, highlighting the vital role of guidance and advising programs in supporting and empowering students within the university environment.
