The College, represented by the Community Responsibility Unit, organized on Monday 17/11/1447 AH a training workshop titled “Accrual‑Based Accounting in the Government Sector”, targeting employees of Hotat Bani Tamim Municipality with the aim of strengthening their skills in applying modern accounting practices and improving public‑fund management efficiency.
The workshop covered several key topics, including an introduction to governmental accounting and its importance, the concept of accrual basis and how it is applied in government accounting, the differences between the accrual and cash bases, and the national shift toward accrual accounting as part of Saudi Vision 2030 and its role in enhancing public financial management. Participants also learned how to prepare financial statements under the accrual basis, reviewed practical cases and applications, and discussed the main challenges facing its implementation in the government sector.
This workshop reflects the College’s commitment to community service and its efforts to support government entities in developing financial performance and raising professional competency.
