On Monday, 7/4/1447 AH, the college’s female campus, represented by the Student Council, organized an awareness event titled “The Dangers of Drug Abuse and Its Impact on Individuals and Society.” The initiative came as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to promote health and social awareness among female students and to highlight the serious threat that drug abuse poses to the future of youth.
The event shed light on the psychological and behavioral harms associated with drug use, including depression, anxiety, and loss of self-control, in addition to the cumulative physical damage to the nervous and immune systems. It also addressed the broader social consequences of drug abuse, such as family disintegration, poor academic performance, and rising crime rates.
The program featured visual presentations, informative brochures, and interactive booths designed to engage students and raise their awareness of the associated risks. Practical advice was also provided on prevention strategies and the importance of seeking professional counseling when needed.
The event witnessed notable engagement from students, who actively participated through questions and discussions that enriched the dialogue and reflected their commitment to spreading awareness among their peers. The event concluded with an emphasis on the vital role of continuous education and community solidarity as the first line of defense against the dangers of addiction.
