The College, represented by the Extracurricular Activities Committee in the Accounting Department, organized on Sunday 2/11/1447 AH a training course titled “Accounting in Non‑Profit Organizations”, prepared and delivered by Dr. Jihan Mohammed and students of the Accounting Department, with the aim of enhancing students’ understanding of accounting practices in this vital sector.

The course opened with welcoming the attendees and introducing the importance of accounting in non‑profit organizations, highlighting its role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and building trust among donors and beneficiaries—contributing to the sustainability of these organizations and the achievement of their social goals.

The presenter reviewed the concept of accounting in the non‑profit sector and the key differences between it and accounting in for‑profit entities, with a focus on the nature of revenues such as donations and grants, and the mechanisms for recording and processing them in accordance with approved accounting standards.

The course also covered the preparation of financial reports for non‑profit organizations, the importance of financial disclosure, and efficient resource management, in addition to discussing internal controls and their role in safeguarding assets and ensuring optimal use of resources.

The session witnessed notable engagement from the students, and concluded by emphasizing the importance of developing accounting practices in the non‑profit sector to enhance its efficiency and support its role in achieving sustainable development and building a more aware and cohesive society.
