The College, represented by the Extracurricular Activities Committee in the Accounting Department and in collaboration with the Alumni Unit, organized on Sunday 9/11/1447 AH a workshop titled “Accounting as the Profession of the Future: Your Path to Professionalism Through Professional Certifications.” The workshop aimed to introduce students to the accounting profession, highlight its importance and future opportunities, and raise awareness of the role of professional certifications in advancing accountants’ career paths.
Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Ali Al‑Saggaf delivered a comprehensive presentation in which he discussed the concept of the accounting profession and its importance in supporting administrative decision‑making within organizations. He also reviewed the various branches of accounting and the wide range of career opportunities they offer in the job market, emphasizing the importance of building trust in the field of accounting and recognizing its vital role in the economy.
Dr. Al‑Saggaf also addressed the future of the accounting profession amid increasing competition in the labor market, stressing the importance of continuous development and obtaining professional certifications, which are among the key factors that enhance an accountant’s competence and increase their chances of professional distinction. Students were introduced to major international accounting certifications, as well as the certifications offered by the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA).
The workshop witnessed strong engagement from students through discussions and questions related to career pathways, reflecting their interest in developing their skills and preparing for a promising professional future in the field of accounting.
