The college, represented by the Accounting Department, in collaboration with the Professional Development Committee and the Alumni Unit, organized a training course on Wednesday, October 6, 2024, titled "The Professional Certifications of the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA)".
The course covered several topics including:
- An introduction to the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA).
- The regulations and laws governing the profession of accounting and auditing.
- An overview of the certifications offered by SOCPA, funded by the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf), and their exam materials, such as the SOCPA Fellowship Exam, VAT Specialist Exam, Accounting Technician Exam, Professional Certification in Public Sector Accounting Standards, Financial Fraud Examiner Certification, Government Accounting and Auditing Training Track Exam, and the International Financial Reporting Standards Exam.
- Exam schedules and registration dates on the SOCPA website.
- The importance of professional certifications in the job market.
The course also included a Q&A session to answer students' inquiries.
Dr. Fatah Hamoud Belouadh presented the course, which saw positive interaction from participants, emphasizing the importance of professional certifications in enhancing their job market opportunities.
