About Department

 

 

The department of Accounting was established with the to provide accounting education and develop professional accountants to be able to face global challenges and competitions in the business environment.

The department seeks to make contributions to the field of accounting by publishing scientific research on modern accounting issues and providing services to the accounting profession and society.

The department's curriculum has been designed in a way that helps students succeed and excel in their careers, whether in the academic community or the private sector,. In addition the department's program focuses on developing practical accounting  by developing students' practical skills and providing them with training and applied research.

The department is also keen to attract qualified faculty members who are distinguished by high teaching skills and diverse and good research.

Finally, it should be noted that the department has a good infrastructure (books, computer programs, data bank) that supports professors in the process of teaching and scientific research.

 

Mission 

Qualifying graduates with professional knowledge in the field of accounting and providing them with skills appropriate to the requirements of the labor market, community service and scientific research.

 

Program Educational Goals

Qualifying graduates who are well-prepared scientifically and professionally in the field of accounting in accordance with the requirements of the labor market.

Providing students with knowledge that keeps up with modern trends in the field of accounting.

Qualifying students with skills that help them solve problems in the field of accounting.

Provide students with the skills of self-learning and critical thinking to conduct advanced scientific research in the field of accounting.

Qualifying students who are socially responsible and are keen to participate actively in community service.

 

Program Learning Outcomes ) PLOs )

The students are expected to acquire the following cognitive, perceptual, and communication outcomes during the program:

Knowing and describing the basic concepts of accounting, finance, management, marketing and economics.

Recognizing the international standards of accounting and auditing.

Evaluation and analysis of financial statements and transactions.

Using quantitative techniques to solve complex accounting problems.

Demonstrating the ability to conceptualize complex issues in a coherent written form and in formal and informal oral presentations.

Implementing the techniques of accounting to record economic events and issue financial statements through specialized programs.

Working in a team and believing in the benefits of cooperative behavior in accomplishing the assigned tasks.

Bearing in mind the ethics of accounting and social roles when auditing financial statements.

 

Graduate Attributes

At the end of the program, graduates of the accounting program are expected to:

have comprehensive knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories of accounting and using them in identifying the various aspects of modern developments.

demonstrate ability to objectively evaluate  the various accounting issues and assessing them in an unconventional way.

have the ability to identify problems, review studies related to accounting, collect and analyze data, and suggest solutions.

have the required skills of accounting and continuous self-education.

Demonstrate the ability to effectively and appropriately communicate accounting and financial information.

have the skills related to accounting and auditing such as team work, time management, negotiation, professionalism, and cooperation.

Be committed to the rules of professional conduct and the ethics of accounting and auditing profession.

Be socially responsible, and be able to find creative solutions to societal issues.
