On Monday, 12/05/1447 AH, the college’s female section, represented by the Guidance and Counseling Unit in collaboration with the Student Activities Unit, organized an initiative entitled “Sustainability: My Identity and Responsibility”, aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and instilling the concept of sustainability and responsibility among students through educational and field activities.
The initiative began with the program “Awareness Creates Impact”, which included an awareness speech delivered by Dr. Basma Medhat Farhat on the importance of preserving natural resources and the individual’s role in achieving sustainable development. This was followed by the interactive competition “Green Ideas”, which addressed sustainability concepts and correct environmental practices. Participants were honored with symbolic gifts made from recycled materials, such as paper and natural plants. The event also featured awareness booths and educational publications that contributed to spreading sustainability culture within the college.
The second activity was titled “My Environment, My Responsibility – A Waste-Free College”, where students creatively designed waste-sorting containers (plastic – paper – metal) using recycled materials and innovative artistic ideas. These containers were then distributed across different floors of the college, near the cafeteria and stairways, to encourage everyone to use them and commit to waste separation.
This initiative reflected the college’s commitment to supporting sustainable development principles and contributed to instilling values of environmental preservation, cleanliness, and social responsibility among students, thereby reinforcing a vision toward a more conscious and sustainable community.
