Definition: Based on Article 33 of the Higher Education Board and its regulations, the College Board consists of the Dean as its head, and the membership of heads of departments, and three faculty members at most.
Organization of the Board:
According to article 35 of the Higher Education Board's regulations, the Board:
1- Shall meet at least once a month. The meeting shall be valid only with the attendance of two thirds of its members.
2. Decisions of the Board shall be issued by an absolute majority of the votes of the present members.
3. Decisions of the Board shall be valid unless they are refused by the University Vice-President for Academic and Educational Affairs within (15) fifteen days.
The Board's tasks include:
1 - Recommending the approval of the College strategic plan and ensure that it is in line with the strategic plans of the University.
2 - Setting admission and transfer regulations from and to college.
3 - Formation of permanent or temporary committees from among its members or from others.
4 - Considering the appointment of faculty members, lecturers and reaching assistant, their secondment and promotions.
5. Recommending the approval of the proposed academic plans from the academic departments.
6 - Adoption of lists of deprivation and lifting the deprivation of students to sit for the final exams.
7. Approving providing the students a chance of a final supplementary exam within a period not exceeding the next semester.
8. Approval of re-enrollment of students.
9. Approval of the re-correction of the answer papers within a period not exceeding the beginning of the final exams for the next semester.
10. Recommending that students are to be given a fourth chance to increase their CGPA.
11. Suggesting the number of students who can be accepted in the academic year.
12. Recommending the extension or termination of lecturers scholarship for higher study.
