Accounting Program
The department uses a credit-hour system, with Arabic serving as the primary instructional language. The department's implementation of the study is based on the following standards:
- The academic year consists of three semesters and a summer semester, upon request.
- The academic level is used to indicate the educational stage according to the approved study plans.
- The academic level lasts for a full semester (at least 12 weeks), during which academic courses are taught; this time frame excludes registration and final test periods.
- The duration of the summer semester is no more than eight weeks, excluding the registration period and final examinations, during which each course's allocated amount of time is doubled.
- The study plan consists of a selection of required, elective, and free courses. The total number of hours required for graduation determines whether a student will be awarded a degree in the specified specialty.
- The academic level includes a number of courses (subjects) that are taught in line with the accounting program's certified study plan.
• The student must study 190 credit hours to obtain a bachelor's degree as follows:
- During the first years of preparation for administrative majors, the student completes 85 study units (six semesters per two academic years).
- The student then studies 68 credits in the department after completing the general preparatory years and meeting the requirements stipulated by the college in terms of the minimum cumulative GPA and the college's capacity.
- University Requirements: While enrolled in the Accounting Department, the student completes 10 units of university requirements.
- College Requirements: A student in the Accounting Department completes 62 credits of coursework.
- Following level six, a student completes 95 credits (required + optional) in the accounting curriculum (starting from level seven).

To obtain a bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in accounting, the student must successfully complete 190 credit hours.
Introduction to the accounting program
Of all the fundamental business administration disciplines, accounting is crucial to the world of business. As a result, the accountant serves as the primary source of accounting information, which frequently serves as the foundation for internal organizational choices as well as the basis for decisions made by external stakeholders over how much to spend in internal financial resources. Thus, educating trained accountants for the workforce helps to increase the competitiveness of the national economy and provides a solution to the needs that enterprises have for qualified national cadres.

The College of Business Administration gives admission to distinguished high school graduates, after they fulfill the following admission requirements:
1- University general admission requirements set forth by the Deanship of Admission and Registration for all colleges.
2- Fulfilment of the College’s requirements.
3- Department approval based on its capacity and the result of the interview.

Accounting jobs are available in many different government institutions such as ministries and universities. Libraries, research centers and other entities are also concerned with the accounting as well. Accounting Program’s Study Plan.
The accounting program study plan consists of 190 credit units (credit hours), which extends over twelve semesters (levels). The curriculum has been structured into successive levels of semesters so that the students' knowledge and understanding of accounting knowledge areas increases each semester. This plan in accounting is also designed to develop scientific knowledge and experience in the tools and techniques of accounting science. They also provide a good level of knowledge in science, mathematics, ethical practices, and the humanities.
The study units in the detailed accounting program plan have been distributed into two types of teaching methods:
• Lecture: Meant to present the theoretical scientific material in the classroom using the available teaching aids.
• Exercises: Intended to solve and review exercises related to some scientific subjects, such as mathematics, statistics, and others, in the classroom, using the available teaching aids.
Structure of the study plan and classification of its courses
- General Preparatory Years Requirements: Aims at equipping the student with skills in mathematical, humanity, administrative and financial sciences, which enable them to build a solid base for administrative and economic skills.
- University Requirements: These requirements intend to provide the students with important concepts in Islamic culture, the ability to express clearly in the Arabic language, human rights in Islam, local and international politics, his knowledge of national history, as well as his knowledge of the skills of learning, thinking, research, and communication.
- College Requirements The college requirements aim at reflecting the minimum shared college specializations. They cover the main areas and foundations required for a college graduate. These requirements are intended to give the necessary background in order to build and achieve the learning outcomes according to the requirements of the institutional accreditation.
- Compulsory (required) Specialization Requirements: Specialization requirements are directly related to the objectives of the program, and aim to consolidate and develop concepts and knowledge of the specialization through studying basic courses in the specialization. Then, students select scientific paths with compulsory and elective courses that qualify them for rare and vital specializations for each department.
- Elective Requirements: All study programs in the college include elective specialized courses with specific content and appropriately described at the rate of one accredited unit. These requirements contain at least one non-described course dedicated to covering special, emerging or transient topics, and aiming to raise the academic level by providing an opportunity to deepen in one of the relevant branches of knowledge and meet the labor market need for graduates who have sufficient skill in those professions and tracks.
